Mulch Films are membrane liners made of high density polyethylene resin. They are characterized by a low permeability. These liners have the following advantages: high flexibility and chemical resistance; high strength and low moisture absorption.
Mulch films can be used in geotechnical containment where a highly UV-resistant barrier material is required. These liners are highly resistant to agricultural chemicals, acids, alkalis and other harsh substances. The mulch films can be applied in the waste pits for the industries, irrigation tanks and canals. These liners have a much higher tensile strength and are more resistant than other plastic products.

Usefulness of Mulch Film: The mulch film may serve as a liner material in agricultural irrigation reservoirs, aquaculture tanks for fish/shrimp, lagoons to hold industrial wastewater and even for landfills.
A thickness of 15 to 25 microns (0.6–1) is standard for short-season vegetables like lettuce, cucumbers and melons. However, longer-season crops such as tomatoes and strawberries need 25 to 40 microns (1–1.5), while orchards and multi-season crops require 40 to 50 microns (1.5–2).

Mulch films can be permanently joined with either hot-wedge automated equipment or handheld extrusion. This creates continuous, leak-proof joints.
Mulch Film Linings can safely contain fish and aquatic plants. Our virgin mulch film does not contain any harmful plasticizers or chlorine additives. These films are not toxic, do not harm fish and do not smell.

We use special UV stabilizers and a mixture of Carbon Black 2.0% to 3.0% for our black Mulch Films. They will therefore withstand the sun's effects for hundreds of years.
The installation of a nonwoven fabric underneath the mulch film is advised as it safeguards against cuts from sharp rocks and other protruding features in the subgrade soil.
Smooth liners work best for reservoirs with a flat, standard bottom. A textured liner is recommended for steep slopes and vertical embankments in order to protect earth or stone from sliding.
Mulch Film is an excellent material for temperatures below zero. It retains its structural flexibility even in low temperatures or freezing conditions.
For commercial aquaculture, it is recommended to use mulch films made from 100% virgin film. The thickness should be between 0.75mm and 1.00mm. This grade is difficult to harvest mechanically, and can be cleaned easily between crops.
