Description

What are Mulch Films?

Mulch Films are membrane liners made of high density polyethylene resin. They are characterized by a low permeability. These liners have the following advantages: high flexibility and chemical resistance; high strength and low moisture absorption.

Mulch films can be used in geotechnical containment where a highly UV-resistant barrier material is required. These liners are highly resistant to agricultural chemicals, acids, alkalis and other harsh substances. The mulch films can be applied in the waste pits for the industries, irrigation tanks and canals. These liners have a much higher tensile strength and are more resistant than other plastic products.

Mulch Films Types Available

Virgin Mulch Films

This ensures high tensile strength, a uniform molecular composition, and environmental friendliness.

Mulch Films Reprocessed

Mulch films made from recycled polyethylene for temporary trenches, drainage and mulching. These are recycled.

UV Stabilized Mulch films

The fabric is made with the latest UV stabilizers, and black carbon to withstand long-term exposure.

Black Mulch Films

Use high-quality carbon black, 2.0% to 3.0%, for UV protection.

Textured Mulch Films

On steep slopes, provide a surface with a good grip that will prevent soil, stones or geotextiles from sliding.

Mulch film dimensions and custom options

Mulch Film Manufacturing Process

Singhal Industries Private Limited uses modern extrusion technologies to ensure a high level of quality in the production of mulch films.

  • Step 1: Selection of raw materials and compounding: A high quality of virgin polyolefin is chosen and compounded with light stabilizers and antioxidants.
  • Step 2: Extrusion process: These raw materials are heated and extruded by using heavy extruders in the form of uniform masses.
  • Step 3 – Sheet formation: The material is extruded into continuous sheets with a specific cross sectional gauge and width by circular co-extrusion dies or blown film/slot dies.
  • Step 4: Calendaring cooling rollers: Are used to calibrate the finish characteristics of the geomembrane.
  • Step 5: Check for quality: All batches are tested in order to make sure they meet all the specifications, including thickness, tensile, chemical and puncture resistance.
  • Step 6: Packing and dispatch: The rolls are slit securely, reeled on heavy steel cores and properly packed to ensure safe transport.

FAQs (Frequently Answered Questions)

Q1: Mulch Films: What are they for?

Usefulness of Mulch Film: The mulch film may serve as a liner material in agricultural irrigation reservoirs, aquaculture tanks for fish/shrimp, lagoons to hold industrial wastewater and even for landfills.

Q2: What is the optimum thickness of Mulch Films?

A thickness of 0.75 mm to 1.00 mm (30-40 mil) is standard for fish and shrimp farms. However, heavy industrial dams or dams on rocky terrains and heavy agricultural dams require a thickness of 1.50 mm to 2.00 mm 60-80 mil.

Q3: Is it possible to treat Mulch Films with chemicals?

Mulch film resists many chemicals and fertilizers. Mulch film is resistant to many chemicals and fertilizers.

Q4: Can Mulch Films be welded?

Mulch films can be permanently joined with either hot-wedge automated equipment or handheld extrusion. This creates continuous, leak-proof joints.

Q5: Can a mulch film be used on aquatic plants and fish?

Mulch Film Linings can safely contain fish and aquatic plants. Our virgin mulch film does not contain any harmful plasticizers or chlorine additives. These films are not toxic, do not harm fish and do not smell.

Q6: What is the difference between mulch film and PVC liners?

Mulch film offers greater UV protection, and will last longer outside of the building. The liners are also permanently welded using thermal welding. The PVC adhesive is chemical and can degrade in the sunlight.

Q7: Custom Mulch Film Roll Sizes are available?

Singhal Industries Private Limited is able to produce sheets in custom widths and lengths. The company can also offer certain thickness parameters that are compatible with civil engineering plans.

Q8: Do Mulch Films withstand UV rays?

We use special UV stabilizers and a mixture of Carbon Black 2.0% to 3.0% for our black   Mulch Films. They will therefore withstand the sun's effects for hundreds of years.

Q9: Is a protective fabric required under the film?

The installation of a nonwoven fabric underneath the   mulch film is advised as it safeguards against cuts from sharp rocks and other protruding features in the subgrade soil.

Q10: What is the distinction between smooth and textured mulch films of  ?

Smooth liners work best for reservoirs with a flat, standard bottom. A textured liner is recommended for steep slopes and vertical embankments in order to protect earth or stone from sliding.

Q11: Does the film crack when it is frozen or at low temperatures?

Mulch Film is an excellent material for temperatures below zero. It retains its structural flexibility even in low temperatures or freezing conditions.

Q12: Do you have a recommendation for a film rating in commercial shrimp farming.

For commercial aquaculture, it is recommended to use mulch films made from 100% virgin film. The thickness should be between 0.75mm and 1.00mm. This grade is difficult to harvest mechanically, and can be cleaned easily between crops.

Q13: What is the wholesale price of mulch film?

Units may vary depending on thickness, surface area and whether the resin is virgin or reprocessed. Also, the order size can affect the units. Please visit our sales office to get a quote for your project.

Q14: Are Mulch Films recycled?

High-density Polyethylene, after its lengthy useful life, is able to be recycled back into other useful plastic products.

Q15: What can our team do to assist us in our export/bulk order requirements?

In case you want to receive an original quote directly from the manufacturers, then you should mail us your product specifications and dimensions.
